More Exploration (Friday 9.6.2013)

A better view of our home in Dinan
The morning brought another trip up THE HILL(tm) to explore the older parts of Dinan.  We had a nice little lunch of galettes and omelets and off we went in our different directions.  Nita and I found the tourist office, a spectacular cathedral or two and some very amusing shopping.  Luckily, Dinan is so darn small I don't really need to go into a whole lot of detail for the folks coming to see us.  More or less you can navigate by the church steeples you can see from all parts of the old district.
One of the fortified towers of Dinan(just behind the tourist office)

A random pic of the Old Dinan shopping area.
The ramparts the loom over the old port are intimidating.  We snapped a few pics to get a feel of how far above the port and our fave bars Dinan proper actually is.

From the Ramparts, we can see the port.  Our home is just to the left across the bridge.

Niters on the ramparts!
We found the wine shop and a few other nifty things before we headed back down the hill with our freshly killed half case of Rose.

After a couple glasses of said Rose, I grabbed my camera and headed down to the port to take some pics.

The road up to the house.  Beginning of THE HILL(tm)
About 7p.m. there was a minor flash flood of Rose and the option of a nice dinner out seemed to be a good idea.  Down the hill to the port we went to Atelier Gourmand, a lovely little place right at the end of our street.  The staff was incredibly friendly and patient with us throughout the meal.  We had an amazing spread of seafood, salads, wines, desserts, wines, cheeses, wines and cidre.  Some felt it was the best food they had every enjoyed.  Personally it was in my top 10.

Gary shot this spectacular evening shot as we dined.  Superb evening!

Yet another fun filled day in Dinan!
