Yet another quiet Tuesday (9.10.2013)

Tuesday we spent some quality time in the house and kitchen. Cleaning up, laundry, and making pickles from the zucchini and cucumbers that Phil, the house manager dropped off again.  Gary is still frequently mooching about with his sketch pad, capturing some really interesting stuff so we give him a break from cleaning duties.

Late in the day, Nita and I went up THE HILL(tm) for dinner provisions at the recommendation of the house owners.  We dropped in on their favorite butcher shop for some game hens, but alas they were not in stock till Friday.  Order in place we headed back home to deal with the hordes and hungry folks demanding dinner.

Fine, pizza it is!  The little Italian place down the street a few steps has a spectacular wood fired oven and they spun us 4 tremendously tasty pizzas.  We had a fine repast of pizza, wine, cheese and salamis.  Not too bad for spur of the moment.

Wednesday we leave for Normandy.  Touring Mont-Saint-Michel in the morning, Bayeux city and the Tapestry Museum in the afternoon and then a night over in a hotel to catch a full day tour of the D-Day landing beaches and associated sights.  I predict a lot of tears.

More details on Normandy when we return!
